As part of Agena Group’s commitment to community engagement, all colleagues are offered the opportunity to participate in two volunteer days per year. Recently, teams from the Group took part in their first volunteering initiative at Paignton Zoo, contributing to projects over the course of two days.
Two separate staff groups were involved, working alongside the zoo’s teams on a variety of tasks, including:
-
Assisting with pathway and fencing repairs near the cheetah enclosure.
-
Supporting the gardens team in preparing outdoor areas for the winter season.
-
Clearing overgrown vegetation around the maned wolves’ enclosure, enhancing visibility for visitors.
This initiative forms part of Agena Group’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programme, reflecting our commitment to creating positive social and environmental impact in the communities where we operate. By supporting projects that maintain natural habitats and improve public spaces, our colleagues are able to contribute to meaningful initiatives beyond their day-to-day roles.
The Paignton Zoo volunteering days were a successful first step, and we look forward to continuing to provide opportunities for colleagues to engage in projects that deliver both social and environmental value.
