Celebrating 30 Years of Volunteering – Dean Sellick Recognised for His Commitment to the Poppy Appeal

We’re proud to celebrate an incredible milestone achieved by Dean Sellick, our Assets and Logistics Co-ordinator, who has been honoured for 30 years of volunteering with the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Dean received his award at the Poppy Appeal Volunteer Awards on 23 October, where it was presented by the Poppy Appeal Manager for the South West in recognition of his long-standing dedication and service.

Dean’s journey with the charity began in Buckfastleigh, Devon, when he started helping with the annual appeal at just eight years old. Since then, he has continued to give his time each year to help raise funds and awareness in support of veterans and their families.

Reflecting on the milestone, Dean said:

“I started helping out as a child, and I can’t believe it’s been 30 years already. It’s something I’ve always enjoyed being part of — supporting such an important cause and seeing the community come together each year.”

The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal is one of the UK’s most recognised and enduring charitable initiatives, raising vital funds for those who have served in the Armed Forces and their loved ones.

Dean’s long-term commitment is a fantastic example of the dedication and community spirit we’re proud to see across our teams. Congratulations, Dean, on this remarkable achievement.
