Reflecting on an Incredible IPC Conference 2023

The IPC Conference and Charity Gala this year, themed “Taking Control”, was nothing short of phenomenal; a turning point where professionals congregated to envision the future of parking solutions. Every year the event provides an unparalleled opportunity to connect with esteemed professionals, exchange ideas, and delve into the changing landscape of parking.

Agena’s CEO, Paul Dawson, a key figure in the IPC committee, participated in a Q&A panel which sparked engaging discussions by addressing pressing questions about the future trajectory of the industry. Our CTO Stuart MacLaren presented on the role data can play in taking control of parking operations.

The conference theme resonated with the challenges and opportunities in the parking landscape. IPC’s Chris Naylor presented some enlightening data on the changes IPC is making to their guidance for operators, to proactively address the impending parking act. He shed light on its impact and the transformative potential it holds for the industry. His data-driven approach provided invaluable insights, igniting discussions on its implications for future strategies.

At the exhibition zone, Atria had set up demonstrations of their solutions, including Hub – a fully integrated back office suite, and also Sippi – Agena Group’s platform for managing e-permits, cashless payments and access control. The most talked about solution throughout the day was our unrivalled Data Insights package which gives clients a real-time window into their parking business. It is flexible, agile, and more advanced than other car park management reporting software.

In the evening, the industry got together for a Charity Gala dinner to raise funds for Alder Hey Children’s Charity & DEBRA UK. It was the time to also announce the winners in the annual industry awards.

We are proud to report that Agena Group had finalists in all four categories and we took home two wins – our Environmental Committee clinched the ‘Parking Team of the Year’ and Mohsin Zafer received ‘Parking Attendant of the Year’.  And yet, it’s not just about the accolades; it’s about inspiring innovation, setting new benchmarks, and fostering collaborations. The recognition received is a proud moment for our team, fuelling our determination to push the boundaries of service excellence within the industry.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved, from the IPC Conference organisers to our incredible teams, for making this event such a resounding success. Here’s to continued innovation and meaningful strides in crafting the future of parking solutions!
