Agena Group has been independently certified as carbon neutral 6 years ahead of schedule.
Launched in 2022, the Group’s Environmental, Social & Governance Strategy outlined a target of reaching carbon neutral status by 2030 and net zero by 2050. However, following the benchmarking of the businesses’ 2022 carbon footprint by independent consultants Ensphere Group Ltd, we have taken the step to offset our 2022 emissions, plus an additional 20%.
Offsetting investments have been made through Carbon Neutral Britain™ , in projects which focus on both CO2 sequestration and avoidance.
In addition to offsetting our carbon emissions, the Group continues its mission to reduce or avoid our emissions at source. This includes through the Group’s supply chain with all our suppliers now evaluated, amongst other criteria, on their own sustainability credentials.
We have also subsequently revised our decarbonisation strategy to commit ourselves to offsetting all Agena’s estimated carbon footprint, since its incorporation in 2019. We are committed, that by 2025, Agena will have offset 100% of its emissions, since its creation.
Ian Roberts, Commercial Director and ESG lead for Agena Group said of the latest announcement:
“From a personal perspective, it genuinely feels good to be part of a company committed to sustainability and one that is certified net neutral. To those of you out there, like me, that form part of a company’s board or its senior management team, I would encourage you to follow Agena and become a certified net neutral business before 2030
