At the Agena Group, our commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) excellence has always been at the heart of what we do. As we unveil our ambitious new 3-Year ESG Plan (see below), we’re proud to look back on the incredible progress made during the previous three years while looking ahead to the exciting goals we’ve set for the future.
Reflecting on the Past 3 Years: Overachievement and Impact
The past three years have been nothing short of transformational, with significant milestones achieved across our ESG commitments. Not only did we meet our objectives, but in many cases, we went above and beyond. This success wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our teams, not least Agena’s award-winning Environmental and Engagement Committees.
One of our proudest achievements is becoming carbon neutral six years ahead of schedule. Achieving this externally certified milestone underscores our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint and embracing sustainable practices.
We’ve also made strides in promoting greener transportation by installing EV charging infrastructure across our multiple office locations across the UK. This initiative not only supports cleaner commutes for employees and visitors but also aligns with our mission to foster environmentally friendly practices. Installing EV chargers has also facilitated the ongoing migration of our fleet vehicles from petrol/diesel to greener alternatives.
Another area of Agena’s focus has been to reduce paper consumption. By implementing solutions such as digitised receipts across payment terminal estate, the rollout of the Sippi app (facilitating online paperless payments) and the integration/provisioning of our Fleet Hire solutions we’ve significantly cut down paper usage across the group.
Our commitment to promoting biodiversity and protecting nature’s carbon sequestering sea grass is evident through our proud partnership with the Studland Bay Marine Partnership, where we designed and implemented a technical solution making Eco Moorings within the bay financially viable and thus protecting sea grass beds, the home of endangered sea horses.
Another example of something we are very proud to have achieved is becoming a “zero-waste to landfill” operation. This achievement is also externally certified, providing those we work with the confidence that what we say is backed by independent evidence.
In addition to our environmental goals, our charity and community work has been central to our efforts to make positive impacts to the communities we work within. From hands-on volunteering to impactful fundraising, our teams have actively contributed to making a meaningful difference both locally and beyond.
The few highlights mentioned above, alongside the many other forward steps we have taken in the ESG space over the last three years showcases Agena’s genuine commitment to its stated ESG plans. With the continued support of all of our people we’re excited to build on our initial 3 year plan with the publication of our next 3 year plan.

A New Chapter: The Next 3 Years
With the launch of our second 3-Year ESG Plan we build upon the foundations that we have in place, and we now set our sights higher. This ambitious plan is designed to stretch Agena, pushing ourselves to do more in all areas of ESG. We aim to remain the ESG leader within our industry and, by the actions we take, we hope to encourage others within our industry to raise their own ESG standards.
Ahead of plan, we have achieved Investors In People certification, reflecting Agena’s commitment to prioritising employee development and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Our commitment to making a positive impact to the communities within which we live and work continues to be an ongoing commitment as demonstrated in our plans shown below. Through new community engagement programs, we’ll be strengthening partnerships with local organisations to drive meaningful and lasting positive change.
We are also continuing to raise the bar when it comes to our carbon reduction goals, taking further steps to set science-based targets, reducing emissions across our operations and supply chains.
Continuing the Journey
Our ESG journey is far from over. As we implement this new plan, we’re excited about the potential to make an even greater impact. From environmental innovation to social responsibility, we’re committed to creating a sustainable future for our business, our people, and our planet.
We’ll be sharing updates on our progress as we tick off the goals in this new plan, so stay tuned for more. In the meantime, take a closer look at the highlights of our past 3-year ESG plan and our future commitments for 2025-2027 below.
